Numbers to watch

Monthly churn
The share of members who do not renew. At 10% a month you replace the whole base in under a year.
Cost of a new member
Marketing spend divided by new members. Compare it with what a member pays over their lifetime.
Active members
The base the hall can serve at peak hours.
Summer cash
The dip in visits and renewals in summer is where cash gaps happen.

Common mistakes in this kind of model

No churn in the model

Without churn the base grows forever. Real studios lose members every month.

Flat year

September and January bring more sign-ups, summer fewer. Seasonality changes when cash runs short.

Forgetting equipment replacement

Machines wear out. Plan a reserve for repairs.

Questions

How do I model membership churn?

Set the share of members who leave each month in the subscription block. FinModel recalculates the active base every month from new members and churn.

Can I add personal training?

Yes, as a separate sales block with its own price and number of sessions.
